Touchwood Appalachian Workshops
Workshops
can be arranged for any level of ability or experience. Some examples are given
below.
Beginners
- for absolute beginners who have never done Appalachian stepping before, these
workshops cover the basic steps and simple movements, with some big figure
moves. They are an opportunity to learn to move with the music, and lay the
foundation for the later workshops.
Intermediates
- for those who already know the basic steps and want to move on, these
workshops involve sequences of more advanced steps which are the building blocks
of dances. They concentrate on choreography. People work in small groups to
learn figures and adapt them to create their own original routines. Free-styling
is encouraged!
We are holding two Workshops for anyone who would like to have a go at Appalachian Dance on Sunday 23rd September & Sunday 7th October 2007 at Moira Dale Sports & Social Centre, Castle Donington. 2pm to 4pm
Come and have a go!
